In recent years, the perception that plastic waste is polluting and dangerous to the environment has escaped popular support, and "Non-plasticization" has also become a new fashion. In the convenience stores and supermarkets around us, the plastic bags used for shopping have also escaped and transitioned to paper shopping bags. The beverage bottles and food packaging boxes used in the past are no longer made of plastic materials.
According to a data survey conducted by Japan’s Economic Research Institute, the use of paper packaging bags such as handbags, corner bottom bags, and flat bottom bags in Japan in 2017 was 14.8 billion, an increase of 3% over 2016, and the level continued in 2018. The upward trend went down to 15.2 billion. As the demand for paper packaging bags increases, it is estimated that the consumption of paper bags in Japan will reach 15.7 billion in 2019.
Among them, the number of flat-bottomed bags is on the rise, while the number of handbags and corner-bottom bags is on the decline, which may be caused by the excess of packaging. More and more packaging bags do not need to use hand-held or corner-bottom bags.
